What They Are Saying

One of our favorite local acts, Darren J and Blackkat Bone are tearing up the blues scene in Memphis.
- Beale Street Caravan, August 2009

"Darren J and Blackkat Bone is an exciting new entrant to the blues music scene in Memphis and already turning heads (and ears) at their performances. Great originals and covers, punctuated with stinging, well-phrased solos by guitarist/vocalist front-man Darren J, and tight, punchy grooves by veteran rhythm section mates, Kenny Allyn (bass) and WC Garrison (drums)! Highly recommend you catch this act as soon, and as often as you can!"
- Dave Bennett/President, Memphis Blues Society, August 2009

With the release of their first CD, Panhandle Blues, the Darren J. Trio displays a unique sound, honed and perfected in Pensacola, Fl. We now have a musical style that reflects the ambiance of the Florida Panhandle and captures the social relevance of this up and coming blues band."
- Reese Howard/President, Blues Society of Northwest Florida (2007)
